Onsen by the Ocean
Shirahama is blessed with natural hot springs, and several outdoor onsen sit right beside the ocean. Sakino-yu, one of Japan's oldest hot springs dating back 1,300 years, lets bathers soak in mineral-rich water while waves crash just meters away.
